1. Training begins by introducing the three concepts of systems thinking, ingroup loyalty and customer care as key components of effective organisations
2. This enables the school to critically evaluate its actions to reveal old cultural thinking and assumptions about students
3. We can then relate this to the appalling social and academic outcomes in the west (UK and USA) of our children and the inability of education to work as it should
4. We explore and can explain why social repair programmes (SEAL, PSHE, SEX ED. SEL, Citizenship etc) are ineffective and fail students (failure to build relationships)
5. The role of the tutor is explored and revealed as a major systems and management failure in schools, the opposite of what is expected
Once the old culture factory school is laid bare it is possible to rebuild the school using VT values and management principles exploring...
1. Tutor group size and how and why this is important and achievable
2. Tutor group make up and why tutor groups should not be based on friendship
3. The roles of Lead and Assistant Tutors (VT drives management change)
4. Creating Vertical structures (schools within schools) and their management including the role of Heads of House / College
5. Changing management ideas and tasks: the knock on domino effect
6. Exploring Academic Tutoring or Deep Learning Conversations: demonstrating and understanding the theory and practice (Changes reports)
7. Identifying critical meeting times and rebuilding parent partnership: again this is further development of learning support
8. Understanding ingroup loyalty and how to intervene to build new loyalty structures where every child and every adult is a leader and mentor
9. Re establishing the tutor's front office role
10 Tutor time...what happens in the new structure and putting the whole picture together as a new operational support philosophy
Critically there is a clear picture given of how high quality tutoring leads to higher quality learning and teaching and real parent partnership. This is the purpose of VT as it builds value in rather than adding it on!

Staff Training is training for ALL staff in the school regardless of status or position. This builds on the Leadership Team training and is designed to ensure that all staff understand how VT works and their role in it. It effectively flattens management structures and shows how schools within schools within schools support learning and change the management culture. LTs find this second session more important than the first in presenting holistically how a values driven school improves teaching and learning and student outcomes. It is a journey from IQ to EQ and on to SQ (spiritual organisational intelligence) . Staff reaction to this session is overwhelmingly positive as it reunites deep seated teacher values with real actions to 'make a real difference' besides reducing complexity and system add-ons.
